North Korea getting ready to Launch
Intelligence officials state that North Korea is preparing to launch short and medium range missiles instead of long range ones that could possibly hit the U.S. This brings up an interesting question: Is North Korea backing down from it threat? Is it just unable to fulfill its promise to attack the U.S. if we interfered with their weapons programs? Do we call their bluff?
As a veteran I can assure you that calling another country’s bluff is the most terrifying thing you can do. On one hand you have great intelligence telling you that you’ve got the upper hand, but on the other hand there is always that level of uncertainty. I can imagine that for President Obama it is even more a daunting task since he is not exactly in-tune with his military side yet. But that’s not a dig on the President, it’s just a statement of fact. Bush didn’t have a handle on the military this early into his presidency either (or ever some would argue… but I digress).
If the U.S. shoots down the North Korean missiles, there could be further tension on the Korean peninsula and a war that was put on pause 50 years ago could suddenly break out again. The level of intelligence uncertainty as it pertains to North Korea is even more exasperated since it is the single most dangerous spot for a U.S. Intelligence agent. Over 7000 U.S. agents (American, South and North Korean in nationality) have disappeared since the Korean Conflict ended. There is no way to know for sure what the North Koreans are planning to do.
One thing is for sure, we probably can shoot down anything that comes our way. The real problem is how to deal with the communist country on its own turf. An undertaking that was proved very difficult (or impossible) in the 1950’s.
Diplomacy has proven over the last three administrations to be ineffective but no one has ever called for all out war against the country as that could prove fatal as China is their biggest supporter. And with China holding $2.5 Trillion in U.S. debt we can’t really afford to piss them off can we?
Neda Soltan was an Angel of Freedom
Her friends and family describe her as “full of joy,” “A beam of light,” and “Angel of Freedom.”
The image of her brutal murder by Iranian State Police has bolstered support for protesters as they speak out against this senseless killing even though they are not legally allowed to mourn her bloody death.
Neda was gunned down during protests in the capital. You can see videos and photos of it all over twitter and youtube. They show her bleeding from the mouth and nose as her friends try to stop the blood loss. The most moving part is when her music teacher is holding her in his arms begging her to stay alive and to hold on. “Neda, don’t be afraid. Neda, stay with me. Neda stay with me!”

She was very fond of traveling and had been to Dubai, Turkey and even Thailand. She apparently gave up studying in Tehran in order to become a tour guide and possibly travel with Iranian Students abroad. Her music Teacher Hamid Panahi described her as an accomplished singer who had taken up piano lessons with him.
Her parents asked her not to go protests but she was so angered by the injustice that she was compelled to go.
Around 6:30 pm Neda, her piano teacher Panhi and two others were stuck in traffic as they went towards the protest. At one point they got out of the car to get some air when they heard a distinct “Crack.” Neda Soltan was on the ground.
The L.A. Times quotes Panahi, “we were stuck in traffic and we got out and stood to watch, and without her throwing a rock or anything they shot her. It was just one bullet.”
“I’m burning, I’m burning!” Were her final words.
She was rushed to the hospital where the doctors tried to save her life but she was reported as dead on arrival. Cut down by a brutal regime only because she wanted freedom and honesty in the government.
Mehdi Khalaji, a senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near Eastern Affairs, told FOXNews.com that Neda has become “one of the pillars of this movement now,” and the bloody images of her dying in the street are its “main icons and symbols.”
To add insult to injury the Iranian government has forbidden all mosques in Iran from holding any kind of ceremony, or vigil, not even a eulogy for the fallen woman. Her own family was denied a ceremony and funeral then they tried to hold one in Northern Tehran. “Grave consequences” awaited those who gathered. Outrageous.
“They were threatened that if people wanted to gather there the family would be charged and punished,” Samsami told FOXnews.com.
Ayatollah Khomeini is being blamed at least in part for her murder. His threatening speech was given just prior to the violence breaking out.
“For the first time since the election it seems that people are including in their slogans ‘Down with Khomeini,’ and ‘Death to Khomeini,’” says Khalaji.
The Iranian government of course denies that they used any lethal force to put down the protests and blames faction groups loyal to deposed and exiled rulers.
Neda’s fiance says Caspian, says that she did not even support a single candidate but was outraged at the corruption and oppression of the Iranian government.
Neda wanted “freedom for all,” he said.

Fastest Recount in History
As Iranians beg for freedom and fairness the “guardian council” (the most laughable name for a government body) has declared that there was no fraud. Obviously they have magic powers as they did when they counted the first time. This is what happens when a country has supreme leaders and such. The only thing the guardian council was guarding was its own ass. In a totalitarian regime anything is possible if the government says it is. Millions of Ballots can be counted in a matter of minutes, fraud can be determined in the same amount of time. With a wave of a magic wand this all happens to the wonderment to the people. WOW!
I know that this is not a surprise to anyone, but this is the place that WE are headed. In this country we now have Czars. We have people with massive regulatory powers who were never elected and serve at the pleasure of the President. These Czars can say or do anything and the people have no power to remove them from office or even check their work. We have Bank Czars, Auto czars, bailout czars, pay czars… I think there’s 8 in all but whatever right.
Look we can all sit here and believe that Obama was “Forced into these actions by the Bush administration” or we can believe the truth. Obama is doing EXACTLY what Bush was doing by taking power from the people and giving unbelievable powers to the government. We can believe the truth that Obama had other options that could save our economy and those options he intentionally ignored in order to consolidate power for himself and his buddies.
We are becoming Iran. We are slapping chains on ourselves as they fight to brake theirs off.
Another strike against individual liberty
Look, I don’t think there is a person alive in America that doesn’t know that smoking is unhealthy. And if you haven’t seen the reports and the ads and the literature, then it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out that pumping smoke into your lungs isn’t good for you.
But for some reason, despite all the warning signs against it, millions of people choose to smoke every day. This is a personal choice and even teens know that it’s bad for them… hell that’s probably why most teens start smoking anyway. But nevertheless kids do it as well as adults. There isn’t much more you can do when it comes to smoking. We have truth campaigns (which tell a lit of mistruths… but I digress) and all kids of other ways to educate people about the harmful effects of smoking. Enough already! If people want to smoke, let them smoke.
Oh that’s right, smokers are being blamed for the high cost of healthcare. Never mind that GOVERNMENT is proven to be the biggest problem in the health care battle. Lets blame smokers! They’re an easy scapegoat.
The problem is that with a looming national healthcare service in the midst this is just a taste of how the government is going to regulate your life under the auspices of reducing health care costs. First it’s something like smoking which most people don’t do, and a lot won’t have a problem if it goes away. But then they will turn their eyes toward something else… maybe McDonalds.
Then it’s people who don’t exercise. Or people who eat excessively fatty foods. Soon we’ll have government sponsored heart monitors implanted in us that will notify the Department of Health and Human Services that we don’t exercise enough and that our universal health care coverage has been revoked. All in the name of saving money.
Iranian Propaganda Machine
The Iranian Example
So we have Iranians protesting in the streets about the results of their elections. We have a brutal police state cracking down on the protests at every turn and (according to the Iranian government) killing at least 17 protestors in the process. What are the Iranians protesting? Are they protesting the results of a single election? No.
They are protesting the Ayatollahs! In reality the Iranian people are sick of being offered “choices” instead they want actual choices. The Ayatollahs set the real policy by approving candidates. You can rest assured that no candidate can be approved without following the Ayatollahs policies. So if the Iranians want a free election they must remove the Ayatollahs
In a twisted way we have a very similar situation here in the U.S. We’re told that we have two choices in government: Republicans and Democrats. Both are run by the political elite. Both conduct themselves in secret back room meetings and push policy that is contrary to the wishes of the American People. Yet we’re told that these are our only choices. Red or Blue and there are no other colors.
Maybe Iran isn’t lagging behind us in the philosophy of democracy. Maybe we are looking at the future of the U.S. Maybe we’re going to be in the streets one day getting beaten down by police simply because we want freedom. We want real freedom and not the appearance of freedom, not “choices” but actual choices.
Balance
God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him, resting on the seventh day.
He inquired, “Where have you been?”
God smiled deeply and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, “Look, Michael. Look what I’ve made.”
Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said. “What is it?”
“It’s a planet,” replied God, “and I’ve put life on it. I’m going to call it Earth and it’s going to be a place to test Balance.”
“Balance?” inquired Michael, “I’m still confused.”
God explained, pointing to different parts of earth. “For example, Northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while Southern Europe is going to be poor. Over here I’ve placed a continent of white people, and over there is a continent of black people. Balance in all things.”
God continued pointing to different countries. “This one will be extremely hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice.”
The Archangel , impressed by God’s work, then pointed to a land area and said, “What’s that one?”
“That’s Washington State , the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful mountains, rivers and streams, lakes, forests, hills, and plains. The people from Washington State are going to be handsome, modest, intelligent, and humorous, and they are going to travel the world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving, carriers of peace, and producers of software.”
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked, “But what about balance, God? You said there would be balance.”
God smiled, “There’s another Washington . Wait till you see the idiots I put there.”
What I’m reading now
Right now I’m reading Gelnn Beck’s Common Sense! It’s a great book! It really gets to the heart of some of the major problems that we are facing right now including the runaway government spending, over regulation, and other insane things out government is doing to destroy us.
The great thing is that both parties ar killing us and we support them. We give them our money and time and blood, and sweat for what? I don’t know. So they can hose us? Yay us!
Get this book and read it. Well actully read the 5000 year leap first. THEN read this one! We need to stop this insaity before we follow the same fate as the Weimar Republic.

Random thoughts today
What have we become? A nation of codependents? Why must the government solve every problem that we have? Why is it that this administration’s answer to everything is more government regulation and control?
A couple of random concerns from me today.
The President is looking to give the Federal Reserve MORE power. This violates the Constitution which states that congress has the power to make currency. The Fed is a private bank and we are giving it regulatory powers. Of course there will be a government committee sitting over the Fed to watch it headed by none other than Tax Cheat Timothy Geithner. Yes! Good old Tax Cheat Tim will be making sure the Fed is following the law or whatever its supposed to do…
Government Healthcare is in the works. Here’s a little article that shows you that the government is responsible for the high cost of healthcare. In fact it is so responsible that it outweighs the cost of uninsured people not paying for their healthcare. But government is now going to fix it by mandate! Here’s a question. If the government mandates something that is already in short supply what do you think will happen? Could it become more expensive?
We put our faith in corrupt politicians who market themselves as saviors. Have we lost faith in OURSELVES? The individual reigns supreme in the United States! Why have we lost touch with that?
Putting our trust in government will only lead to shackles and oppression. Mark my words.
