Under the new health care legislation, experts say the first changes Americans with employer-based insurance will see is in their benefits.

Companies don’t have to make any immediate tweaks to their plans, but they will have to incorporate a few of the federally mandated changes by open enrollment time late in 2010, said Tracy Watts, partner with employee benefits consulting firm Mercer.

The changes made this year will come into effect in 2011, with more phased in over the next few years until the law becomes fully implemented by 2018 or later.

Some of the changes will increase costs for employers, she said. Consequently, companies could share more of that burden by charging employees higher premiums and deductibles.

So here’s what you can to expect in 2011.

Dependent coverage to age 26: This is one of the most significant changes, said Watts.

Currently there are different laws in different states regarding the timeframe for dependent coverage. Typically employers provide coverage for dependents ’till age 22 or 23.

In 2011, employers will have to provide coverage for dependents of employees who don’t have access to other employer-based health care coverage ’till age 26 with the exception of a few states which mandate this coverage until age 28 or 29, she said.

Watts said this measure could raise costs for companies, depending how many workers they have with dependents this age.

“This measure goes into the ‘cost increase’ column for employers and could potentially result in higher premiums for employees overall,” she said.

No lifetime dollar limits: Many employer-based health insurance plans have lifetime maximum limits on insurance of $1 million or $2 million. The new law eliminates all lifetime caps, said Watts.

“This is a very good benefit for employees,” said Watts. “In the event of a catastrophic accident or illness, employees no longer have to worry that their benefit will run out.”

No reimbursement for over-the-counter drugs: Currently, employees can get reimbursed for the money they use to buy over-the-counter drugs from their flexible spending accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) to buy over-the-counter medications.

These accounts typically enable individuals and families to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by their insurance plans with tax free dollars.

The new law removes reimbursements when the accounts are tapped for buying non-prescription drugs, said Watts.

Higher penalty for misusing Health Savings Accounts: Under the new law, employees who use their HSA money for a non-qualified medical expense will face a higher penalty, said Watts.

“The most frequent example of a non-qualified expense is if you use your HSA money to buy a flatscreen TV,” said Watts.

Report health coverage on W-2 forms: Employers will have to report the value of an employee’s health care plan on W-2 forms.

“This is not the value of your claims but the value of the coverage you elected,” said Watts.

Cap on Flexible Spending Account contributions: Although this change does not kick in until 2013, the new law will limit employee contributions to FSAs to $2,500 a year.

These accounts enable individuals and families to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by their insurance plans with tax free dollars.

Many employers have their own caps on FSA contributions and the cap for federal employees is $5,000.

“This seems like a significant change but our surveys shows that the average amount put into an FSA is typically $1,500 a year,” said Watts.

A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons gas a year. A vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480
gallons a year.

So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year. They claim 700,000 vehicles so that’s 224 million gallons saved per year. That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil. 5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption.

More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $70 per barrel costs about $350 million dollars.

So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million. We spent $8.57 for every dollar we saved. I’m pretty sure they will do a great job with our health care, though!

So how’s that hope and change thing going for ya?

Obama is intent on destroying the insurance companies. He said in his speech (which was after the speech that was supposed to be his final speech) today in Ohio that they were going to “require insurance companies to proved free preventive care.” FREE PREVENTIVE CARE. F R E E P R E V E N T I VE C A R E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What does that tell you?????

What do people do when they get something for FREE? My wife nailed it. She said “They Milk it.” MILK IT! And that is exactly what the American People will do. They will go to the doctor for ever scrape, bump, bruise, cough, sneeze, or sniffle that they can pass off as “preventive care.” The cost of preventive care will go up since demand for it is so high, which means the insurance companies will then eat even more costs.

So what do you do when your business is losing money? You have to either raise rates or cut expenses. I’m pretty sure that the Insurance companies won’t be able to raise rates. So their other option is to cut expenses and that means JOBS. Once they start cutting jobs the workload of the remaining employees will drastically rise. This will create an environment where services are delayed and inadequate. This is actually so unacceptable that it is almost not even an option, but let’s just pretend it is. Then what?

You have overworked, underpaid employees doing the jobs of a workforce twice their size to meet a rising demand for a service for which the company is not even going to receive any revenues. But since the company is locked into providing these preventive service free of charge BY LAW there is nothing it can do.

Or is there? Of course, as my wife said again (quite astutely), “Then you Kill yourself.” That’s right honey. You kill yourself, figuratively of course. IN this case, you would close up shop and get out of the insurance business. Your investors would divest the company, and split it up amongst themselves, make a killing and call it a day.

This is exactly what Obama wants. There is no other logical reason for his and the Congress’ actions.

Well if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I don’t think I would have believed it. You have to PASS the bill before you can see what is in it. Nancy Pelosi is admitting that she doesn’t exactly know what’s in the bill but she knows it’s good and “exciting.” Well I’m convinced! Let’s do this!

When I’m done maybe I’ll get a mail-order bride too. There’s no need to talk to her or meet her, just package one up and ship her to me. I find out what she’s like after I marry her.

Then after that I think I’ll buy a used car online without even so much as a test drive. I can find out what’s wrong with the car AFTER I get it in the drive way.

This is why this is the worst Idea I have heard of. This is so screwed up! We have to allow ourselves to be burdened with the bill and the new laws and regulations it will put on us BEFORE we find out what it says, exactly. Let’s face it. It will be YEARS before we figure out everything that’s in the Healthcare Bill. By then it will be too late to fix any of it.

This is Washington B.S. 101!

Let’s not forget that this is nothing more than an attempt to eliminate private insurance, as Obama said in his own words, and take over all American’s health care… and in essence your entire life.

According to a Wall Street Journal Article, the President’s Health Care bill is going to allow federal funding for abortions, something he said he would not do. So what’s the big deal? If anyone remembers the Hyde Amendment which was the first piece of legislation to ban the federal funding o abortion, it came about in the 1970’s when Congress realized that a full third of all abortions in the U.S. were being funded through Medicaid. This did not sit well with Congress so they passed the Hyde Amendment put forth by Rep. Henry Hyde in 1976.

Planned Parenthood and Medicaid were working together in the form they were meant to. To get rid of poor minorities through slavery and abortion. Congress actually stopped it with the Hyde Amendment, but I digress.

Anyway, now the administration is faltering. Claiming that here has to be a balance between healthcare reform and the Hyde Amendment. So far, according to the President current proposals to ban federal funding for abortion doesn’t strike that balance. Which brings up a good point: either the funding for abortion is prohibited or it isn’t. There is no Zen (as Charmaine Yoest says in the WSJ article).

From the Article:

• It would change existing law by allowing federally subsidized health-care plans to pay for abortions and could require private health-insurance plans to cover abortion.

• It would impose a first-ever abortion tax—a separate premium payment that will be used to pay for elective abortions—on enrollees in insurance plans that covers abortions through newly created government health-care exchanges.

• And it would fail to protect the rights of health-care providers to refuse to participate in abortions.

The president’s plan goes further than the Senate bill on abortion by calling for spending $11 billion over five years on “community health centers,” which include Planned Parenthood clinics that provide abortions.

The bottom line is that the president wants to deploy words that sound soothing like “balance” and “adjust.” Meanwhile, the courts are rendering precedent with stark words like “mandatory.”

When confronted by House Minority Leader John Boehner about abortion funding during the health-care summit last week, the president dropped his head and looked down at the table. How revealing.

Now, it is no secret that I am not a fan of abortion, however, I would never deny someone the right to save their own life through termination of pregnancy. What I can’t understand is why Americans fall for this all the time. The politician says one thing with the intention of doing the exact opposite. President Obama promised that the federal government would not fund abortion, yet his proposals clearly will allow for it. Where’s the change?

This healthcare bill cannot be allowed to pass. If it does, then we will have a 2000 page bill with laws, regulations, and who else knows what determining the fate of our healthcare. Which begs the question, why the hell IS it so big? It couldn’t be because if the bill is so big no one would take the time to read it would it? No, that couldn’t be it…

So, if you don’t want someone to read the bill you make it 2000 pages long. Why? Ever seen the IRS tax code? It is likes 80,000 pages. Why the hell do you think it is so big? Why so many codes? Why is it so long? Could it be so that no one bothers to read it? And if they did, it would probably be so confusing that you wouldn’t really understand what was in there in the first place.

I am reminded of the novel Atlas Shrugged. At one point a Washington stooge tells Hank Reardon the secret behind democracies. That secret being that you pass law that are vague, impossible to interpret and impossible to enforce. You pass laws that are so numerous that it makes it impossible for anyone to be a law abiding citizen. Then you can do anything you want to anyone at any time. Ayn Rand, knew what she was talking about. She lived in Soviet Russia and that is one of the things they did there. Nobody broke the law in the Soviet Union, officially, but nobody was able to obey them either. That’s how they got rid of their enemies.

So what does that have to do with healthcare? Well, it’s simple. There is a 2000 page bill which contains nothing and everything at the same time. This bill hasn’t been read, by anyone preparing to vote for it. In it contains what? The cure to our healthcare problems. Almost certainly not. Those 2000 pages represent exactly what Ayn Rand was talking about. Those 2000 pages represent the scaffolding for something else. Even if they do add the GOP ideas and take out this thing or that option inside is still the basic framework for something sinister. That sinister thing is the ability to control every aspect of your life.

Why does the IRS need to know about your healthcare choices? I don’t know either but it’s in the bill. Why does the government want so much influence over who gets healthcare, what kind of healthcare is available and how much? Think about it. Everything you do affects your health. If you eat fast food, that affects your health. If you smoke that does too. The government is going to intrude on your way of life and document every aspect of your life that has negative effects on your health. Then what will they do? I don’t know. But they’re going to do something about it you can bet your life.

Maybe they will eventually use the data as a means to enact the Single-payer system in which they have absolute control over your life. Will they deny you expensive, life-saving drugs and treatment because you eat too much fast food? Or will they pull the plug on your cancer treatment because you smoked when you were younger? I don’t know. But it seems likely.

If people tell you it’s about cutting the cost of healthcare then ask them this. Why does the government need to provide subsidies to people in order to make their payments go down under this bill? That’s not lowering the cost of healthcare its RAISING the cost of healthcare. What if you lose your job? How will you pay for your healthcare then? Will the government pay it for you? How convenient that they would do that since that’s their stated goal: to get everyone on single payer. Don’t believe me? Go watch the video.

If it’s about cutting costs, then ask yourself this. Is it reasonable to believe that the Federal Government is able to save money and cut costs? If you believe it is then I submit to you Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security and the Federal Budget. Please point out to me the government program capable of saving money. I’ll save you your time and energy. You can’t. Government will always cost more tomorrow than it did today. It will always cost more than what was projected and it will always need to take more from the people in order to survive.

So if it’s not about controlling costs, then it has to be about expanding coverage right? Let me ask you this, how do you expand coverage to 30 million people without adding to the costs of the program? You can’t. Let me ask you this, how do you expand coverage when people in the healthcare industry are dropping like flies to get out of the industry? You can’t… unless you start rationing healthcare.

The people who wrote this bill know that it will fail. It is meant to fail. It is meant to fail so that we can get a NEW bill that will create universal healthcare. Mark My Words. That’s why we can’t let it pass.

There is a lot of this going around right now. Intellectual mistakes and cognitive errors abound. First, the Republicans… Many on the GOP side believe that the people want bi-partisanship to the point where they are willing to take one in the rear. Those republicans would be wrong you see? The public opinion polls show that the American people DO want health care reform, but they do NOT want this bill to pass. Let’s just assume that this bill will pass and a number of Republicans vote for it in the spirit of bi-partisanship, I will guarantee that they will not win their primaries or re-election. For whatever reason, this healthcare bill has been poisoned with kick-backs, buy-offs, union favors and corruptions that would make any Chicago politician proud. This is nothing new in Washington, and this is what the people are fed up with. They’re done. They don’t want this bill and ANYONE who helps this bill pass is going to pay dearly this November. Just sayin’ GOP.

Now the Democrats… I have never seen so many smart people completely unable to learn from the mistakes of the past. The last time the Democrats tried to pass this they got they’re asses kicked in the mid-term elections. They have somehow managed to fool themselves that the reason they lost big time in 1994 was because they FAILED to pass Hillary Care. Idiots. The reason you guys lost in 1994 was because you tried to pass it in the first place. Calling it a different name and making it sound happier isn’t going to help you this time. There is too much information available to the American people now. It’s just too easy for us to see right through this bill even though its almost 2000 pages. Sorry democrats, you will pass this Healthcare reform at your own peril.

Republicans would do well to start campaigning to repeal the legislation as soon as it is signed by President Obama. If they do, I think there will be super-majorities of Republicans in the House and Senate. And they will be able to repeal the legislation over any Presidential Veto. There are going to be so many new Republicans in the House that they can pass a law to force Nancy Pelosi to change her name to Bozo the Clown.

Yeah, I think the American people hate this bill THAT much. But hey, what do I know? I just talk to people and look at the information available to everyone.

Right-o then. So the Democrats are going to use the reconciliation process to pass this legislation. A process that they will tell you the Republicans have used way more than they have. I would wager though, that the GOP used the reconciliation process to pass more popular things like, tax cuts and other things the American People approved of. Not a comprehensive healthcare bill that would ultimately doom us all to excessive national debt, poor quality of healthcare, rationing, and the loss of the control of our lives and liberty.

And even if the GOP did use it to pass unpopular legislation (I have no idea because I haven’t looked it up) it doesn’t make this any more popular now. It’s just a terrible idea and the Democrats are going to pay for it at the polls. And for every day this legislation stays in place we the people will pay for it the most.

So, let me run a little scenario by you.

Step one, we pass this Healthcare Reform Bill thingy in order to expand coverage. But then, we notice that EVERYONE still isn’t covered, so we scrap that plan and write a new law expanding coverage to everyone. Then we notice that people are UNDERINSURED so we scrap the second bill and pass a new one that expands benefits to all people. Then we realize that it would just be easier if we had single-payer, universal healthcare – so we pass it.

Then things start getting really, really, really expensive. First we raise taxes on the rich, but that doesn’t work. So we raise taxes on the pretty well off but not filthy rich, and THAT doesn’t work. Then we raise taxes on the upper middle class and, THAT doesn’t work. So we raise taxes on the MIDDLE class and low and behold THAT doesn’t work either.

Then we come up with the idea that we need to cut costs. So we start limiting the kind of drugs and treatments that people can have. Things are still expensive so we limit more and more until we are rationing healthcare to people.

Things are STILL way expensive so we come up with a final solution: eliminate the most expensive part of our healthcare – old people and the chronically sick!!! We adopt a euthanasia law that will allow doctors to just “euthanize” people who have “no quality of life in the future.” This pertains to the old, the infirm, people with terminal illness, mentally and physically disabled people, the insane, and people with genetic disorders that would be a “burden to their families.”

Think that’s impossible? It sure as hell is, because it’s on the verge of happening in Canada RIGHT NOW!

I’m not saying that the Euthanasia bill will pass Parliament, but the fact that it is even being considered shows you just how pure evil a government-run healthcare system is.

The Canadian people are lovely people and I respect them so much. So when I see this about to happen to them makes me shutter in shock! How could a civilized society like Canada even elect a person who would propose this bill? Well, to the members of parliament, they might not have a choice. The system in which they operate is quickly becoming unsustainable, and heartless. This is eventually the end-result of all socialized government programs: kill the one who cost the most. Or in the case of Medicare or Social Security, keep raising the age limit so more people die before they are eligible.

Socialism will eventually show its true colors, black, cold, heartless, and pure evil.

Dot one: Barrack Obama (BHO) is the president. His career was launched by William Ayers an avowed radical and unapologetic terrorist.

Dot two: BHO hired Van Jones, an avowed communist and member of the Apollo Alliance to be the green jobs czar. (When was the last time you looked to a communist to create jobs???)

Dot Three: Jeff Jones is the founder of the Apollo Alliance, the organization that wrote the Stimulus Bill, and co-founder of the Weather Underground, a radical terrorist group that bombed Federal buildings and the New York City Police Department.

Dot Four: William Ayers, the OTHER co-founder of the Weather Underground helped launch BHO’s political career in Chicago.

I have often marveled at how people can so willingly ignore the Ayers connection to Obama. But, I was told that I was just being hateful. Hmmm…

OK, so why is the green jobs czar a communist and not some environmentally conscious entrepreneur? Why? Because the green jobs czar is a member of the organization that wrote the stimulus bill. The organization that wrote the stimulus bill was founded by an avowed revolutionary communist who apparently has no qualms about bombing/killing people. The founder of the Apollo Alliance also co-founded a terrorist group with the same man who launched BHO’s career.

Ok, so Bill Ayers launched BHO onto the scene and he becomes a Senator and eventually President. The President then appoints a communist to be the green jobs czar? Why a communist? Why not someone who actually has experience in creating jobs? Is it because that the Green movement is closely related to the Red movement? The green jobs czar Van Jones is a communist and so is his buddy Jeff Jones who founded the Apollo Alliance and wrote the STIMULUS BILL… Why is a communist interested in stimulating a capitalist economy? Why is it that most people believe the stimulus bill is not working? A communist… hmmm… This communist also co-founded the Weather Underground with BILL AYERS and went around bombing buildings and trying to kill people.

Karl Marx said that in order for his plan to work that about 20% of a population would have to be “eliminated.” Communists who are not afraid of bombing/killing people have: 1. vetted and launched BHO onto the political scene. 2. are in charge of our “green jobs.” 3. wrote the stimulus bill that was rammed down our throats…

So, lets review: Our president was sanctified by Bill Ayers in Chicago to run for office. Bill Ayers was the co-founder of the Weather Underground (a terrorist organization). The OTHER co-founder of the Weather underground, Jeff Jones (an avowed communist), founded the Apollo Alliance which gave us the mighty stimulus bill. Van Jones, a criminal and avowed communist, is now the green jobs czar appointed by BHO…

Yes, I am repeating myself. Why? Because I want it to sink into that thick skull of yours…

Our president was essentially created (in a political sense) by a radical leftist terrorist for the purpose of transforming our nation into a socialist stronghold. Now, this isn’t about Obama. There are probably thousands of little Obamas running around looking to fulfill this same purpose. BHO is just the lucky stiff who was at the right place at the right time and he got to run for and win the presidential election.

In return for his loyalty BHO gets perks like sweetheart real estate deals from Tony Rezko and his wife gets her salary tripled at the hospital. BHO gets a ghost writer to write his “autobiography” and some of his other books too, whatever.

In return for this treatment and the opportunity to become president, BHO is now expected to implement “the plan” to start the country moving faster and faster toward socialism. Why? Not because these freaks actually care about the downtrodden, but because they want to CONTROL EVERYTHING. That is what communism/socialism/progressivism is all about. Screw the people, its all for the elite.

Funny how the Stimulus package was so readily available? That’s because it was written years ago and it was just waiting for an opportunity to strike. Look inside the bill and you will see that it is about controlling states and controlling people, not about stimulating the economy.

Funny how HR 3200, a thousand-plus page bill was so easily written… that’s because it was written years ago. Universal Health Care is the next step toward socialism. Once they control your health care, they can control who gets health care. They can control what you eat, what your activities are, what you put into your body, how many children you can have, what you can buy, and how long you can live.

Cap and Trade? Yeah baby! That controls the economy under the guise of “environmentalism.” A communist government controls the economy from the top down… now you see why the green jobs czar is an avowed communist. You also see why the stimulus bill was written by communists… so there would be synergy between the two actions. You will also find (I’m sure but I’m speculating) that the HR 3200 was probably written by the Apollo Alliance (aka communists/progressives/socialists).

Foolish people, now, only in the end will you see….
