Turbo Tax Tim says it’s all good
As the Treasury Chief assures China that their investments are still good, the U.S. continues to trash the dollar and run huge deficits. He is all but begging the Chinese not to bail on us now. After all they have a vested interest in us right?
This is the problem we have in America. We depend so much on DEBT and foreign investment that we have to beg other nations to have faith in us. Is THIS what we have become? An old worn out has been? Foreign nations are carving us up, we’re shipping jobs overseas and we are on our knees begging the CHICOMS of all people! Begging them to have faith in US and not to bail on us.
This is the product of irresponsible government. Ultimately it’s the responsibility of the we the people because we are just like the government. We spend more than we have and then beg creditors to give us more money. Just like the creditors who have been tightening up their belts and stopped lending, I think the Chicoms will eventually stop lending as well. Then where will we be? Up shit creek? Yeah, probably…
This is what I call El ! Unless the people of this nation are more responsible, and realize that elections have serious consequences then we will never pull out of this.
I mean look how irresponsible WE’VE been with our voting! We elected a man in 2000 based on his name. We elected a man in 1992 because he was smooth and good looking. We elected a man in 2008 because he was the first black man to become president AND he was fairly smooth AND he wasn’t the guy we elected back in 2000. We have been sucky at picking presidents AND congressmen. We are to blame for all of this!
Yeah, so next time the government pisses you off, why don’t you slap yourself in the face. In the meantime, turbo tax cheat Tim Geithner is going to beg more countries to lend us money so we can put the final nails in our coffin. We’ve already been buried alive, but why try to dig out now? I mean this borrowing and spending money we don’t have is REALLY working out for us… Why change now?
Iranian update!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090717/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iran_election
Protestors in Iran are still fighting for their rights. I haven’t commented on this issue in a few days, but it is still very near and dear to my heart.
On Fridays, the militia fired tear gas at protestors inside the mosque at Friday prayers. As the former president Rafsanjani criticized the Iranian government for post election violence the protestors yelled “Azadi! Azadi!” Persian for “freedom.”
But tear gas was not the only disturbing thing going on. Hard line supporters of the regime bullied and pushed the opposition leaders as they were headed for the prayers. According to the AP, “As she headed for the university, a prominent women’s rights activist, Shadi Sadr, was beaten by militiamen, pushed into a car and driven away to an unknown location, Mousavi’s Web site http://www.mowjcamp.com and a women’s rights site http://www.meydaan.com said.”
Reports have been coming in from Iran saying that the morgues have been filling up in Tehran with hundreds of unidentified bodies. People are disappearing and being killed. It stinks of Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany.
Rafsanjani’s sermon during prayers is heartening to see that he wants his people to be united but it will fall on deaf ears. The government will continue to ignore the will of the people as they continue to pretend to know what’s best for them. But, as it is with all tyrants; it’s not about the people it’s about the POWER.
Look, this is tyranny at its finest. But its also good to see that the people of Iran are not giving up. The people outnumber the tyrants in the government. If I’ve learned anything from reading about revolutions it is that.
Our government is failing to properly support this fight for freedom. I’m not talking about arms and troops; I’m talking about support from our president and State Department. For instance, WHY isn’t Hillary Clinton calling out the Iranians for abducting the women’s rights activists? Why isn’t she speaking out against the horrible treatment that women get in many of these so-called “republics?” All we get is empty drivel about how they are “concerned.”
Our nation is not far behind the kind of tyranny that is in Iran. Our tyranny will not be religious but the assault on our economic freedom and the freedom of our healthcare choices will lead us down the road to a police state.
Obama has rewritten the Cold War
Liz Cheney has a WSJ article slamming Obama for his recount of the Cold War.
‘Speaking to a group of students, our president explained it this way: “The American and Soviet armies were still massed in Europe, trained and ready to fight. The ideological trenches of the last century were roughly in place. Competition in everything from astrophysics to athletics was treated as a zero-sum game. If one person won, then the other person had to lose. And then within a few short years, the world as it was ceased to be. Make no mistake: This change did not come from any one nation. The Cold War reached a conclusion because of the actions of many nations over many years, and because the people of Russia and Eastern Europe stood up and decided that its end would be peaceful.”‘
Mr. Obama apparently has either no idea of what was going on during the Cold War – probably because of all the drugs he was using or selling – or, he is intentionally sucking up the the Russian regime. Either way, it’s sick.
Mr Obama’s version is not even close to the truth. We were not fighting over astrophysics and athletics. Nor were we really fighting about ideology. We were at odds because one regime was a brutal totalitarian regime filled with secret police, KGB killings, imprisonment of political enemies and dissidents and the denial of basic human and civil rights. The Soviet Union then tried to export this type of terrorist government to other nations as a means of controlling them. The ultimate goal of the USSR was to dominate the world and create a de facto World Empire.
Mr. Obama seems to leave out these facts when he was speaking to these young Russian graduates. In fact he does them and us all a disservice by telling it any other way. The Soviet Union was evil – as all totalitarian regimes are. It collapsed because the West was too much for them, economically, socially, and militarily. The nation that took the lead in defeating the Soviet Union was none other than the United States.
I suppose this drivel that Obama speaks is whats showing up in history books and that our children will no doubt be droning this in the near future. But it is a bold faced lie to say that the Soviet Union or the Cold War ended peacefully. Nothing about the experience of the citizens of the Soviet Union was peaceful I would imagine. The Cold War was more about their struggle within the Soviet Union than ours outside of it. The USSR was a reminder about just how far tyranny can take you, but it also shows that it can only take you so far. The will to live free always prevails. Even if it takes 80 years or so.
So I would appreciate it if Mr. Obama would tell the truth about the Cold War. Unless he is trying to model OUR nation after the Soviet Union. Then I wouldn’t expect him to tell the truth about anything.
Ah yes, Peace… not.
President Obama called for the reduction of the nuclear arsenals of both Russia and the United States today…
“The future does not belong to those who gather armies on a field of battle or bury missiles in the ground.”
But what assurances will we have that our old adversaries will do as we will no doubt do? If we reduce our nuclear arsenals will Russia? Will they in good faith? Who is to say, but it is no doubt that President Obama will make sure that WE do.
And while we unilaterally disarm Russia will most likely NOT disarm and say they did. Then Iran will arm up and North Korea will as well. And then, when we are at a strategic disadvantage we will also cancel our plans to build a missile defense shield. The future is not bright.
What the U.S. military needs to do is start “disarming.” That means they will probably hide the actual number of nuclear weapons from the President and the World. unfortunate, but highly possible. Because for real… are we going to trust the former KGB agent?
Take it from me (someone with a degree in Intelligence Studies) HELL NO!
Sec. Clinton to meet with deposed despot
In another appalling move by the Obama administration, Secretary of State Clinton is going to meet with the deposed President Zelaya of Honduras. The President of Honduras was attempting to rid the country of its constitution by “changing” it so that he could stay in office without re-election and indefinitely.
The Honduran Supreme Court decided that this would not fly and so did the Honduran Congress. The military deposed the President after he made it clear that he was going to try this anyway.
What President Obama and Sec. Clinton are missing is that the people who deposed the Honduran President were sticking to the rule of law… sort of. But they thought him such a danger to their Constitution and to their democracy that they had to remove him by force.
Giving him support now would be to legitimize his attempts to become a dictator. But since Obama likes that in a leader… then why not.
On one hand we have the VP talking about sovereign nations and how they handle their own problems. Then we talk out the other side of our mouths and try to force Honduras to accept a man as president that they no longer wish to have as president. He is to be arrested for 18 alleged crimes including treason. Yet here we are again sticking our noses in a country’s business.
When Iran was having problems Obama said he would not interfere. When Honduras has problems its perfectly fine to interfere.
What’s the connection? In Iran a despot is in power. In Honduras the despot was removed from power so Obama wants him put back.
Of Tyrants, Despots and Dictators
Our President keeps siding with despots and dictators. This is just another reason why we have to oust him in 2012 and most of congress in the 2010 elections.
Our government is appeasing Marxist dictators like Hugo Chavez as he tries to export his revolution to Columbia and Bolivia in an attempt to become the de facto Emperor of South and Central America. Now he has his sights set on Honduras.
The Honduran President Manuel Zelaya wanted to become the lifelong dictator of Honduras. He ran as a Centrist and showed himself to be a Marxist while in power. Now he wants to consolidate that power and become the supreme leader. Thank God the Honduran Supreme Court shot him down as well as the Honduran Congress. They all told their president that the rule of law must be obeyed and the Constitution cannot be changed so that he does not have to run for re-election.
Finally the military stepped in and removed him. The new government now faces constant harassment from Zelaya’s supporters. They are demonstrating in the streets and threatening the new government with revolution. Now Hugo Chavez has thrown his support behind the wannabe dictator.
So what does OUR president do? Does he side with the rule of law? Does he side with democracy or the will of the people (who do NOT want this guy anymore)? No! Of course not. He sides with Hugo Chavez and Manuel Zelaya! What the hell?
Fist he gets cozy with Chavez, then the King of Saudi Arabia. After that he basically supports Ahmedinejad in Iran while he crushes his own people. Let’s not forget he keeps sucking up to Putin in Russia and now he sides with the wannabe dictator in Honduras? Our president needs to be put in check! Because if we don’t we’ll get put in check by him. Look at the regimes he supports! Iran, Venezuela, Russia, Saudi Arabia; all of these regimes are run by tyrants, despots and dictators. Is that what he wants for us?
